🐴 Caring for Our Senior Horses on Give to the Max Day 2025
We at Changing Gaits please prayerfully ask you to consider a donation to help us cover the essential expenses of our beloved aging senior horses. Your support ensures our senior herd, which gives so much to those in our programs, can live out their years in comfort and health.
With age, our horses face digestive challenges that require specialized care. They need senior feed and hay cubes, and we feed them four times a day to ensure they maintain a healthy weight. Our goal this Give to the Max Day 2025 is to raise $8,000 to cover this critical care. Every dollar you donate will go directly toward this important goal.

🌟 Support Changing Gaits: Where Horses Heal People
Please consider supporting Changing Gaits for your Give to the Max Day 2025 donation. Changing Gaits is a faith-based nonprofit organization situated on an 80-acre equine ranch with thirty-four horses. Our certified equine therapists and LADC (Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor) professionals provide adults, youth, and children with Equine Assisted Therapies that significantly increase their quality of life.
Founder and Executive Director Nile Guy Kaufman started Changing Gaits in 2004, driven by his own journey overcoming addiction. He was compelled to help others find hope, opening the ranch to provide life-affirming experiences.
For over 20 years, Changing Gaits has offered powerful services, including Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) and Psychotherapy (EAP), and Hippotherapy (the use of horseback riding as therapeutic treatment). We also operate a Sober House for men recovering from addiction. Changing Gaits was among the first in Minnesota to use Hippotherapy to help adults with addiction, at-risk youth, adolescents with autism, and children with movement disorders.
In 2020, we proudly received a $24,785 grant from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation to purchase lift equipment. This equipment allows those with disabilities and paralysis to safely mount a horse, rewarding them with greater independence, increased mobility, and a profound sense of joy.
Mr. Kaufman's dedication and life’s purpose have helped thousands of people find a path to betterment. We are proud of our history of impact and have continued to see exponential growth between 2018 and 2024, with 2024 being the best year in our history.
