Equine Assisted Therapy

Horses, Healing, and Changing Lives - Mind, Body, and Soul

We entrust horses to show us the way back to health. Work and observation in the horse world lends itself to extremely powerful metaphors into our own patterns, strengths, and nonverbal messages we send out. From 2018 to 2022, we have proudly helped a total of 3929 Clients through our Equine therapy programs, Trail Rides, and other programs (104 Adults, 260 Youth, 45 Group, 1380 Individuals, 157 Special Needs, 1933 Trail Rides, 71 Sober Living).

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) & Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL)

Equine-assisted work honors the natural behavior of horses and herds. Horses are skilled at keeping themselves safe and are adept at survival. Their natural behaviors are optimal for mental and physical health. In many respects, we as humans have lost the instinct to keep ourselves safe and healthy. We entrust horses to show us the way back to health. Work and observation in the horse world lends itself to extremely powerful metaphors into our own patterns, strengths, and nonverbal messages we send out.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) implements the power of equine-assisted philosophies and exercises to introduce therapy clients to themselves in a morality that has been found to be more efficient and less threatening than traditional talk therapy.

Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) is a field of practice based on the successes of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP). We have learned that everyone can benefit from equine-assisted work - not just therapy clients. Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) uses equine-assisted philosophies and exercises in a variety of arenas including parenting and family dynamics, personal coaching, church groups, corporate retreats, and more.

EAP and EAL can help with emotional and behavioral issues, anger management, marriage and relationship issues, abuse and addiction, mental health issues including PTSD, and more. We also work with special needs children and kids that are just going through a tough time.

EAL 1 hour session $120   /   EAP 1 hour session $160

Group or Youth Group Session:

2-hour program, 1 hour trail ride, 1 hour equine therapy, $60 per person.

How Does Equine Assisted Therapy Work?

A licensed alcohol & drug counselor or family therapist and an equine specialist work together to design sessions that require the client to apply certain skills. This professional effort is intense and effective, complimenting other treatment methods.

Faith-Based: For those who are willing, a spiritual component is available, helping people heal in a holistic fashion. Founder Guy Kaufman and staff believe that Divine Love combined with Truth will set people free.
